Donald Love appears as a main character in Grand Theft Auto III, a minor character in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and the tritagonist of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.
Description[]
Donald Love is a business man, owning many businesses in Liberty City. In 1986, he was mentored by Avery Carrington, even following him around with a pen and pad. He even meets Tommy Vercetti during one of Avery's missions. By 1998 he lives in Liberty City, and is a very important character in the storyline. In one mission, he has Toni Cipriani kill Avery Carrington, and then retrieve his dead body for Donald to eat (Donald's a cannibal, yes!). He then leaves Liberty City in an airplane (with Avery and another victim Ned Burner's corpses onboard as an in-flight snack).
Between 1999 and 2001, he goes to Los Santos and continues to expand his business, even living on a yacht on the Carribean. He returns to the city in October 2001. Donald employs Claude, asking him to complete tasks such as killing Kenji Kasen and retrieving some packages (which were revealed to be decoys). Claude retrieves the real package from Miguel, and later, works for Donald for the last time, acting as decoy to allow the oriental gentlemen to escape with the package. Donald then disappears with the Oriental Gentleman, leaving it unknown if he is alive or dead.
Trivia[]
- The Yakuza may have discovered Donald's plan to kill Kenji, and killed him in retailation, which may be how he disappears near the end of GTA III.
- There is also the theory that Tommy Vercetti learned that Love killed his friend Avery and in return sought revenge.
- Donald Love is a cannibal, as seen during the GTA Liberty City Stories mission Cam Pain (a picture of Toni and Donald in the mission is seen above), where he eats human ribs and describes human flesh as being "like chicken" but "more sentient". He is also known to throw morgue parties, as revealed in both GTA III and GTA Liberty City Stories, even having Toni Cipriani steal the corpses of Avery Carrington and Ned Burner to eat.
