The Sibling Rivalries franchise (current run: July 8, 2013 - Present) is the second major comic franchise in the GTA Nerd Comic Productions fictional company, following the Cletus Comics franchise. In October 2022, it has surpassed CC to become GTA Nerd's longest running series.
The main characters of the franchise are the McReary Family, including the siblings Patrick, Francis, Gerald, Derrick, and Kate McReary, although the prequels and some comics have other characters as the lead. The five siblings are named after the McReary family characters Grand Theft Auto IV, but besides the shared names, the comic series is not intended to take place within the same continuity as said video game.
This prequel focuses on a never before seen character, 11 year-old Jason Parker. He has recently moved to Vancouver from the State of Arizona and wishes to become a professional football player. He is helped by new friend Drake Romero, as well as other friends Gerald McReary and Joel Gonzales. However, his dreams become endangered when he falls in love with a girl named Wendy Delgado and starts to lose focus in the sport he loves.
Setting: West Bend, Wisconsin from March 2000 to February 2001; epilogue scenes set in present day Green Bay, Wisconsin
Length: 30 pages
In this darker and raunchier prequel, the focus turns to 19 year old Hector Wilson as a young adult up to no good. He commits robberies with his friend Carlos Garcia Montero, while their other friend Tristan Duran whom they knew for a while is starting to get fishy. One night after getting drunk at a bar, Hector meets and sleeps with a girl, whom he accidentally impregnated with a son that he isn't fit to raise.
This is a rewritten version of the 2014 prequel that renders the orignal version non-canon as this becomes the new canon. This comic tells a similar story of young Jason Parker moving to Vancouver and continuing to accomplish his dream of becoming a famous football player with his friends and team, yet he is distracted by a girl he begins to date.
Significantly different spins are put into this iteration such as never before seen plot points; not only that, but as a modern SR product, this version has better drawings, modern character models/movements, and most importantly a stronger story.
The series chronicles the life of the McReary siblings and their adventures in their new home of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Their adventures vary from simply having fun with each other and their new friends, to defeating the "evil" Joel Gonzales who wishes to take over Green Bay with his gang.
